Guide to Indoor Play Space Fun in the Schaumburg Area
Beat the heat or escape rough weather with these great indoor play spaces!

Libraries
Every Library in our community has an area geared towards youth with structured play dates and storytimes. Some spaces are quieter, while others are made for the kids to engage. Check out your local library today!
The AHML Kids World is a welcoming space perfect for the growing mind. Recent family-friendly upgrades include an Everbright wall, Tween Space, floor projection, Imagination Station, and Baby Garden.
You can find the kids area in the lower level where there's plenty of games, activities, puzzles and other interests to explore. A calming space and the makerplace is nearby too.
Very small play area in the cafeteria space has a soft floor and in wall activities for the kids to take a break while grabbing some food. Paper and crayons on tables to play with. My kids also just love walking around the store and trying out tents, beds, and toys that are put out for trying before buying. Cross your fingers they re-open the actual play area, Småland, someday!
This location boasts an indoor jungle gym with slides, and a ball pit, as well as a dollhouse, train set, and other toys sure to spark your little's imagination. A separate infant area allows the smallest ones to crawl around with age appropriate toys. Lounge space with low walls allow parents to observe while not being in the play area if they wish. The cafe has food, coffee and other beverages. Confirm on social media or contact the cafe for information on art classes, which look to be every Thursday night, as well as special events and birthday parties.
Lego enthusiasts can see builds come to life at LEGOLAND where they can ride Kingdom Quest Laser Ride, Merlin’s Apprentice Ride and catch a flick at the LEGO 4D cinema (think 3D with water). Sail the seas on the pirate ship and castle indoor playground and grab food at the cafe. Exit through the gift shop where it will be tough to leave without at least a minifig! Special events and monthly themes are held throughout the year and space is available for birthday parties. *Publishers Tip: Sign up for the Lego Magazine and each month you'll get the magazine which comes with a coupon for a FREE Kids Pass with the purchase of an adult ticket. There's also some steep membership discounts around the holidays, so keep an eye out for that. Lastly, if you're making a day or weekend out of it, save money with the Legoland Discovery Center+Peppa Pig World of Play bundle and spend a few hours at both OR use the other ticket within 14 days!
Step into the World of Peppa Pig and her family at Woodfield Mall with multiple themed areas, including Peppa's Treehouse, Muddy Puddles, the House and more. You might even have a chance to meet Peppa for a photo op! Special events are held throughout the year and birthday packages are available.

The indoor space at Spring Valley Nature Center is great for learning more about the environment around the community. Interactive play areas allow kids to explore inside and outside. The Heritage Farm is currently under construction (we can't wait to see the new space and take a class!), but you may still be able to explore the animals and historical buildings. Space rentals available for events.
Enclosed area with one open entry in the main area in front of Macy's. Soft carpeted floor with multiple, low, climbing structures and benches surrounding the space to sit. Occasionally closes for staff to clean.
*Publisher's Note: Some doors open at 8AM to allow for store employees to enter, and you'll see plenty of other people there just to walk around the mall.
Next time you're shopping at Woodfield Mall check out, Yu Kids Island's colorful playground oasis. Padded structures are fully enclosed. Food and Drink available for purchase. For children 48" and under. Birthday party packages are available and occasional events.
